Craftsman Edgework
In order to facilitate volume production, most glass top manufactures
produce what we call "generic beveled edges." These bevels are ground at an
angle of 5 degrees and remove approximately 1/8" of glass.
Our standard beveled edge is what
we call a "premium bevel," because our angle runs between 8 and
18 degrees depending on glass thickness.
Although more costly to
manufacture, the premium bevel is much more dynamic. The greater degree of angle makes the
beveled edge detail very pronounced and gives the top an intensity with a sharper, clearer
appearance that shallow generic beveling cannot provide.
